About Jennifer and Richard

Executive Chef and co-proprietor Jennifer M. Ota draws on more than 25 years of culinary experience and background starting from an extensive high school culinary program to graduating from the prestigious California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, California. Upon graduation, Jennifer worked as a personal chef for a number of years while mastering her other two fields of culinary interest, baking and Asian cuisine. She returned to New York to assist in her husband’s successful family deli business. As the deli and catering business grew, the business was sold to pursue the creation of Jennifer’s Kitchen & Catering.

Co-proprietor Richard T. Sheridan started his food service career with his family’s successful deli business. Richard was a key component to the initial success of the deli until he moved out to California with Jennifer. He then remained in food service working part-time at an exclusive country club. As the family deli business continued to thrive through the years in New York, Richard with Jennifer, returned to New York to take on full operation of the successful deli. As with Jennifer, the dream of opening Jennifer’s Kitchen and Catering was something they together brought to fruition. Under Richard’s supervision and coordination, Jennifer’s Kitchen and Catering operates the concession stations at local swim & tennis clubs during the summer season.
